i just woke up from a lovely night without power! which would have been fine except all of our heat is tied into electric. brrrrrrrrr! but it was kind of cute to have the entire family snuggled under 3 down comforters by 7:30. a main power line snapped off the pole outside our house and was live- buzzing and jumping in the street in a storm. some very brave guys who were visiting their girlfriends house next door stood out there with big flashlight to wave cars back from driving over the line and electrocuting themselves. i'm sure having the girls looking out the window helped with the bravery factor. then the fire truck showed up to take over and parked right under the kids window and the kids were, like- glued to it...watching all the lights and action. then one of them came up the house and delivered two red fire hats for the kids to wear. it was super sweet! i am glad i always stuff a dollar in the fireman's boot when they stand out there in the middle of the intersection....
i don't think anyone's life was too terribly in danger last night...but the neighbor does have 9 cats and they were dodging around out there in the dark. i was a little worried that the kids might witness Sylvester or Peaches n' Cream in a nasty singeing. but luckily they got it all under control.
Thanks Firemen!!

but on to the real tragedy.... you may have noticed a lack of activity here. my computer is sucking it's last gasping breaths! It is having serious death throes. this is why i haven't been blogging very much. sorry! i can only do it when i get to someone else's computer. this one let's me do about 5 things then freezes up and dies. or it never boots up to begin with. and if it does it has stripes all through the screen. without a computer i can't blog...can't update the website....can't sell yarns and can't do my photography job! and there ain't no buying a new one since we can't even pay the mortgage. so i am fishing around on the off chance that someone has a Powerbook G4 (needs to be the same so i can at least transfer my extra memory and stuff) that they want to trade for boatloads of yarn and/or fiber and/or anything from my site or my soul in equal value to the computer.
OO! Or WINE! I can trade many delicious cases of wine from my family's winery: Boeger Winery ....and it's good wine...not crappy wine. many many awards. good Italian and Spanish varietals.
so, if you have a Powerbook G4 that you are done with and want whatever it's worth in yarn/stuff/wine then email me! pluckyfluff@hotmail.com
