Bi-Coastal Spinning Rock and Roller?
Oh man. that's all i can say. New York was f'ing amazing. This trip was huge in so many ways. This was the first time since i had kids (4 years) that i have ever left for any length of time. And i had no idea how far i had drifted from myself. in a way.....not to be dramatic, but i guess what i'm saying is you have kids and you get married and you throw yourself into that and of course that role becomes a part of your identity but if you don't watch it it can really take over until you lose touch with who you were before. and then you have to fly all the way across the continent, stay up for 4 days in a row, skip food, raise hell ,drink like a jr. high dropout and spin like a maniac until you finally feel back home in your own self.

my best friend lives in brooklyn and i think maybe she had to move there in the first place because we were destroying california together, and sure enough when we got together we tried to do a number on NY, but i think maybe we just hurt ourselves more than anything. so, as if the reunion shenanigans weren't enough  to make this trip ground moving, the spinning class at Brooklyn General Store was so awesome!!! Holy cow- you guys were hilarious!! i knew i was in the right gang when someone suggested getting beer for the mid-morning lesson. (we didn't! we waited till lunch...come on!). but it was basically non-stop orifice jokes and thinly veiled spinning innuendo's. (it's sexier then you'd think). everyone did a great job and the yarns were really beautiful. hey guys: post links here to your pics if you have them posted!

Unfortunately i was too out of my mind to remember my camera every morning. they put up with that and my true self which i had not the energy to disguise or edit. what that means is the lessons were given with a lot of cuss words and crazy talk, but i guess we were all speakin the same language. and i felt every comfortable with everyone there and LOVED the town...i was surprised.  and though i promised some people that i would not return to NY for at least 10 years....i'm not sure i can do it. we're already talkin about a reunion tour and maybe a new class. i may just be going bi-coastal after all.

here are some of the yarns i spun for demo in the class...will be posting for sale tomorrow hopefully. it was a big class so i don't have many yarns to show. the super cute felty guys in here were made by FeltStudio.
