Muuuaag! ug. sweater sweater sweater sweater sweater sweater. mmmmmmmmrrrrra! arrr. no. no more. damn! uh. fuuuuuuuuuuuuu......k..... ok ok- patching this thing into shape. why is this like giving birth to an elephant? because this is the actual work part....not the fun designy part. this is where my attention span is exposed for the fraud that it is. but i'm going to keep on. this is the long walk across the desert before i get to the green mountains. i want to be in the mountains!! so come on donkey.....time to move.
so- the front and back panels shrunk into a totally unacceptable shape. i am sewing more yarn on to make the fabric that will go over the shoulders and connect with the neck. (interlude) .......and...that's as far as i got. that was yesterday afternoon. then my newly appointed spiritual guide mindy showed up to talk about a scarf i'm going to design for her in trade for cranio sacral work. (don't even ask me!! i am such a non-believer in anything. but i'm also willing to try just about anything too. and all i know is one session with her and i was alternately bawling and having sensations of a blow torch on my leg. all from a few passes over my tail bone.) anyhow...she brought me shirts! she said she was channeling me when she went shopping and she must have been...because they were perfect! not just like someone who knows what you like...they were what i would have picked myself. er...uh...did pick i guess. well. she's freakin' me out. but whatever! she's a spiritual guide who shops! if you don't have a guide like this i suggest you get one. but...ultimately things went from a pleasant dinner to a long night of wine drinking. i haven't done that in awhile. so i was very upset to find myself up at 5:30 with the dinker's wake up call (loud banging in the head, stomach ache, no vision- oh! open your eyes... you get the picture). so today i called mindy a little grumpy to find out just what part of my spiritual journey requires a hangover. she laughed! she said nothing. i suffer alone i guess....
so decided to do something easy today. just spun a very simple yarn from some amazing fiber that i got from laine zinzin and homestead wool and gift farm. the laine zinzin fiber was a super soft white alpaca cross and something grey that said "manx". though it wasn't the cat-like animal manx...it was definitely wool. so i don't know. maybe it's a french thing. it was so so soft!!!! the homestead fiber is this new thing sandy is doing with a picker. it's just a bunch of different colors and fiber lightly tossed together. heavenly as well!!!
must....finish.....sweater!
fixing the shoulders and trimming it into shape.

homestead fiber on the left and laine zin zin the natural colors on the right. spinning this up with some nice linen thread.

i hand tossed everything together instead of carding. so basically just pulled it all out into little bits and mixed it up together.

LOVE IT SOFT -just spun it extra soft and very thick and thin. don't know if i'll sell it yet. it may want to be mittens.
