Sniff N' Spin

I used organic catnip sprinkled and spun into Merino wool, plied with leftover Noro Kureyon, some old gold sparkle mohair/wool handspun I had made ages ago, polyester variegated pink and purple thread and various new cat toys. I call it "Here Kitty Kitty". For proof that it smells, see cat
I started with Alpaca, Cherry Koolaid, lavender flowers, and Cool Spearmint dental floss.
Step1: Dye Alpaca Red/Pink with the Cherry Koolaid.
Step2: Felt the lavender flowers into undyed Alpaca nubs.
Step3: Spin the Alpaca and the nubs onto the dental floss.
This made a very interesting yarn, that surprisingly, has a very soothing smell. The spearmint is the most noticeable, then it has a mild lavender overtone with a hint of cherry once in a while. (You really have to be checking to smell the cherry.)

I started out with some loose balsam. Love that fragrance! From the fabric below, I sewed up some little bags, into which I spooned the balsam, and spun the bags into the yarn. The yarn fibers included some dark brown/grey wool and silk. Wired flowers hold the bags closed, and the bags can be refilled. (Took out the balsam when I washed to set the twist.)
Ever wonder what happens to socks in the dryer?
"Eau de Maytag" consists of blue sparkle scented fabric softener sheets, dryer lint, Merino wool, pocket lint (receipts) and a lone unraveled sock. Carded and spun into a single with no static cling and a cuddle up fresh scent.

Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires
I used natural brown llama and hand dyed green Lincoln locks, with 12 Marlboro cigarettes, car air freshener trees, and a cute lil' toy skunk spun into the fiber. The fresheners are a light-green "Sweet Pear" because they were sold out of the cliche Pine ones. They smell positively disgusting, and my hands have reeked like a smoked-dromedary fruit salad for days.
This has kind of a double theme, because when I hear "smelly", I think of my sister's car that smells like cigarettes and her fruitless attempt at masking it with bad air fresheners. So I decided to make a forest out of it, and we all know what Smokey the Bear says...
