Yup yup....got it and stayed up reading it really late.
I am so excited about this book, you did a super job Lexi, you have a great writing voice, fun to read.
This book gives me goosebumps, kinda like the Geisha scarf and the story of Coach.
Has your dh spun any other yarn?

Hey there Lexi, The book is beautiful. I received my copy today and just finished my first page by page look (will delve more deeply many more times, I am sure). An amazing piece of work...and I was worried it would be a little book, like your first one. What a giant accomplishment!

Anyway, Congratulations Big Time!

AMAZING!!!!!! Need a bit of help though...what type of carder do you own and are you happy with it or what would you recommend? I have a fine carder and I think that is one of my issues. Ordering two more books off of Amazon as gifts for my girls!!!!

Re: Book
I have a fine carder too (Pat Green Deb's Delicate Deluxe) and think that is my problem too. I am going to order a drum with rougher teeth for it as soon as I get some extra $$.

Re: Book
Yes, I staked it out--at least for Deb's Delicate Deluxe, you can change out the drum. They sell the "production drum" at Susan's Fiber Shop (http://www.susansfibershop.com/) for $195. I think this would be most appropriate for rougher carding--I would ask Susan, she is very knowledgeable about the pat greens.

Re: Book
sorry! sorry! yes..i'm here- just ignored email for a day or two. carders- biggest question i get now. i use the Louet fine tooth. the fine tooth is actually quite coarse. the main thing is whatever carder you use it needs an internal driveband. an exposed band will just pop off it's tracks when you stuff too much fiber in. and the way to get those chunky batts is too way over stuff the thing. i have not had good luck w/electric carders, but i have not tried the greene so can't say.

hope this helps!!

I can't wait. I preordered a while back and am booking it to the mailbox each morning in giddy anticipation. So glad you had such a blast in NY. I haven't been away since Edie yet. Hope we can rip it up in Vancouver soon though!

Wow!
I bought this in a bookstore yesterday. What a fabulous and inspirational book! This has rocketed to the top of my faves list! I sat and read the whole thing when I got in, and it has just completely altered the way I look at spinning! I have only been spinning a short while, but now instead of trying to create that "perfect yarn" I realize that I should go ahead and see the art and the beauty in my creations, and think outside the box more. The book itself is so visual and beautiful, it is a work of art in itself.
