Aurora Sweater part II- Back from the Brink of Death
well...the coughing and sneezing turned into the nastiest cold this side of hell. i felt like walking death but still had to be up and taking care of the other afflicted in the house. my 2 year old, unfortunately, was not sick. i say unfortunately because he was running around the house like a manic while the rest of us were dying. there is nothing like being ripped out of a sick couch-coma with a plastic sword to the face. anyhow- my prognosis has gone from corpse to walking zombie, healthy enough to at least give a sweater update.

So here it is: 2 POUNDS OF YARN!!  all the same. i can't believe i did it. i had to pad lock all my other materials to keep from mixing it up. i didn't even let the littlest bit of fuzz get into this yarn. so- take a good look guys.....because this is absolutely the last time you'll see anything like this from me!

a whole wall full!!

enough to snuggle in!

Wow!
That would take a lot of determination even if you weren't sick with a housefull of sickos and a sword-crazed two yr old. ( I have one of those btw...not fun when they aren't sick too)
I bet Aurora will be thrilled with the finished product and you thrilled to never see anything resembling this yarn ever again.

BTW,
Which wheel did you use for this? Were you able to use the Traveler with the bulky flyer?

actually...i did the spinning and plying on the travelor with the standard flyer. the bulky flyer is too slow for me. and with 2lbs of the same shit to do...i needed to get through as fast as possible!

god girl, that is a heck of a job you've done on this yarn! it's fabulous for sure.

so sorry you've got the sickies. if i lived on your half of the country i'd be stuffing raw ginger and garlic in you, plus all kinds of strange tinctures!

but, alas, i'm in ohio, so for now you're spared all that, and i will just send you healing vibes.

seriously though, i hope you're up to speed soon, it sucks to feel like poo.

I'm so sorry you've been sick!!! and of course no one wants to take care of the mom ... they all just want to know when you're going to be done being so crabby :)

ha! the old sword to the face ... generally followed up with a head to the nuts :)

though I think it may still beat legos under bare feet on a midnight trip to the bathroom!

Gorgeous. I love all the hooks on the wall with the skeins. I can't stand to make more than about 200 yards of anything either. I just get bored. Though when I start knitting or whatever, I always wish I had more yarn, aargh. Must learn patience and stop coming up with new ideas...

I'm curious about that gorgeous huge spinning wheel in the photo. Saw one at Rhinebeck a few years ago that looked a lot like that and am wondering if you know who made yours?
