Adrift.......
the problem with spring is, it never knows quite what it wants to do. it's cloudy, no it's sunny, no look out it's raining, no it's cloudy again. oh oh! blue sky! wait- nope...rain. and this is me. do i want to spin....maybe knit something, no spin. no wait...paint. maybe after i  drink some coffee. no maybe i should have a beer. no, coffee. no...beer? should i watch Dexter re-runs or throw myself in front of the garbage truck? Dexter is moody....death by garbage truck is moodier.....Dexter? Death? Dexter? ok....Dexter. it takes less determination...and since that is what i am apparently lacking right now, i'll go with it.

seriously though, suicide threats aside, what do i want to do??? i wish i knew. i need some inspiration. something less morbid than Dexter. then again....maybe i should roll with it. haven't done any yarns of gloom and doom lately. hmmmm....i think i feel the slight stirrings of interest arising. time to go look for some materials...

yeah, i hear ya. i want to be outside, even if it is raining, however, you don't live on the cold miserable 80% of the time east coast. if i lived in a warm climate, i would be dangerous. except when it is super hot. anyway, the past two days, rather than pack orders or do batts or spinning, did dyeing. and then i put a ton of loose fiber on the deck to dry, picking it apart by hand, then the sky turns black and i take it all in, still wet, and it rains 5 drops. sigh. i do have a lot of fiber to show for it. i worked thru most of my hoarded loose fiber. go me! go you, too!

That scarf looks great. I especially like the white part.

The scarf is fab; it was a smashing success. The foam is brilliant and the blue is really super.

As for adrift, is that a bad thing? You’ve kind of just busted your arse for weeks. The massive sweater; the dying and crochet the scarf. The "best yarn" you've ever made and the beanie. All of this was kind of major. It’s not like you’ve been sitting on your duff (or at least it seems this way to me from your blog).

My personal feeling (unsolicited as always LOL) is that a little down time gives you wings. I’ve been reading your blog for awhile, and this seems to be your flow. You relax, float, and then bang you get a great idea and it roars.

In Cindy’s newsletter you mentioned the "collective unconscious". It is my opinion and experience that in times of "rest" the mind is able to dip into that energy and come out with something fresh. In fact, I’ve seen this trend with you; relax, float, then here comes a great idea.

So my point is maybe being adrift is exactly what you need. After all, you've only been working your butt off . :)

OMG! It is beautiful. She must love it.
Be happy, you have put so much effort into so many things lately, it is only natural that you should have some down time. It might inspire you on your next project....
